ALL Star Votes

On Thursday, January 2nd the NBA All-Star first collection of fans voting for the starting lineups was released.  The top vote getters from each conference were Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks for the Western Conference, and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks for the Eastern Conference. The fan voting counts for 50% with 25% coming from the players and media. The players with the most votes from each conference are named captains and pick their teams from the pool of the 28 other All-Stars. Since the fans make up the majority of the voting power, we will examine who they should start the All-Star game. The lineups will consist of 3 frontcourt players and 2 backcourt players this is already determined based on the position the players play on the court. For the Eastern Conference the backcourt would be Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks), and Kyrie Irving (Brooklyn Nets). The Front Court would be Giannis (Milwaukee Bucks), Joel Embidd (Philadelphia 76ers), and Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors). For the Western Conference the backcourt players would be Luka (Dallas Mavericks), and James Harden (Houston Rockets). The Frontcourt would be Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers) and Kawhi Leonard (Los Angeles Clippers). This voting makes me glad that the fans no longer have 100% voting for the All-Star starters anymore. There are several players who do not deserve to either start or to make the All-Star Team. Let’s start in the East the entire backcourt should not make it. The Atlanta Hawks are the worst team in the league with a 7-28 record so far this season. Also, Kyrie has only played in 11 games this season this is the NBA, not Duke. In the West, Kawhi Leonard should not be a starter he has only played in 27 of the teams 36 games due to load management which puts him on pace to play just 62 games this season. The question is always if your saying someone should be taking off who do you replace them with? For the Western Conference, I would replace Kawhi in the starting lineup with his teammate Paul George. In the Eastern Conference, I would go with Kemba Walker and Ben Simmons. Let me know who you think should either be a starter or who should make the All-Star team.
