Can Devin Booker Be A Number One Option

The Phoenix Suns have been the surprised team of the NBA restart bubble. They are 4-0 with 4 games remaining in the regular season. The Suns have 3 other teams in front of them including, the Portland Trailblazers who are in the 9th seed and have a 2 game lead over the Suns. The Suns last 4 opponents to close out the season are the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Dallas Mavericks; all of whom are playoff teams. The chances of the Suns making the playoffs are slim to none, due to the number teams they would have to jump over. With the continuing accession of Suns Shooting Guard Devin Booker one must wonder what could have been for the Suns, also if Devin Booker can eventually lead the Suns to the Playoffs.

At the beginning of the year the Suns got off to a hot start and then Center Deandre Ayton was suspended for 25 games for violating the league’s Anti-doping policy. This caused the Suns season to be derailed from possibly fighting for the 8th seed but instead it all but guaranteed another year outside the playoffs. The biggest question is can Devin Booker lead a team to the playoffs. We know he can score he proved that when he scored 70 points in 2017 against the Boston Celtics. He became just the third guard joining Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan as the only guards to score at least 70 points in a game.  Should you consider Devin Booker a true number 1 option or is he Kevin Love when Love played for the Minnesota Timberwolves?  A player who puts up amazing numbers but never comes close to the playoffs. He is currently averaging 26 points and 6 assist a game but until this 4-game win streak in the NBA restart the Suns had not won more than 3 games in a row during the Devin Booker era. The Suns organization does not have the best stability. The last time The Suns made the playoffs was in 2010 where they reached the Western Conference Finals.  Devin Booker has the making of a number guy, but he may have to get out of Phoenix before we can truly answer that question.
