NBA ALL-STAR Game IN ATLANTA !!!!

On March 7th the NBA will be having an All-Star Game that will be taking place in Atlanta. This comes across as money grab on part of the NBA due to money lost with the shortening season. The season is going from 82 to 72 games this season. Some players have voiced displeasure with the league’s decision to have an All-Star game including Lebron James, and Giannis Antetokounmpo . Friday night Kevin Durant was removed from the Brooklyn Nets game due to contact tracing because of the NBA’ health and safety protocol.  The game will likely be opened to fans as the Atlanta Hawks are allowing fans in a limited capacity of 1,700 people able to attend games.

It is interesting that the NBA went from saying they were not going to hold an All-Star game for 2021to doing the opposite a few months later. Also this cuts into the week off players are supposed to get in begging of March before the 2nd half of the season starts. I wonder what suddenly occurred to make the league and the Player’s Association say let’s have an All-Star game. One of the questions that many people are thinking about is with all the protocols and recent restrictions based on the way they try to work around Covid; why would you risk all your star players being together for a meaning less event. I wouldn’t care too much for an All-Star game if that means putting the rest of the season or a key player at risk from a health standpoint with COVID. Also does the league believe they will recoupe that much money for it to be worth playing an All-Star game during a pandemic. What do you think about the NBA having an All-Star Game?
