The Sun Rises in the West!!!!

Lebron James of the Los Angeles Lakers made his returned after missing the previous 20 games due to a high ankle sprain against the Sacramento Kings. James posted a pretty good stat line in his returned 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in the 110 – 106 lost Friday night. With James back in the lineup it is believed that the Lakers who currently are in the 5th spot will avoid dropping into the Play in Tournament which starts at the 7th spot.

The Phoenix Suns led by Devin Booker who dropped 31 points in the blowout win against the Utah Jazz. This victory gave the Suns which tied the Jazz for the best record in the NBA and gave them 1st place in the Western Conference due to the head to head tiebreaker. This has been an amazing season for the Suns going from a team who didn’t make the playoffs last year to having the best record in the NBA this season.

The question is can when all teams healthy will seeding matter. Even though the Lakers are 5th and the Los Angeles Clippers 3rd seeds respectively they are the favorites to get the NBA Finals as the Western Conference representative. The Utah Jazz have had the best record in the NBA for most of the season and I have skeptical of them essentially due to the fact a star player outside of Donovan Mitchell, and also the fact they never have gotten out of the first round of the playoffs since Mitchell has been in Utah. The Phoenix Suns are an upcoming team who lack the experience outside of veteran Point Guard Chris Paul.

With that being said, I predict that that the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns will meet in the Western Conference Finals. This is assuming standings stay the way they are once the season ends in 2 weeks. Devin Booker will show the world why he is that guy and show off his abilities similar to Jamal Murray last year in the playoffs.
